The Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) is a marketplace where you can buy and sell ownership (shares) in companies or lend money to entities (bonds) in Tanzania. It is regulated by the Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA) to ensure safety and fairness.
A stock represents a piece of ownership in a company. If you buy shares in a bank, you own a tiny percentage of that bank. You can make money in two ways: if the company grows and the share price goes up (Capital Gain), or if the company pays out a portion of its profits to shareholders (Dividends).
A bond is a loan you give to the government or a corporation. In return, they promise to pay you back your original money on a specific date, plus regular interest payments (called a coupon) along the way. Bonds are generally considered safer than stocks.
In the real world, you cannot trade directly on the DSE. You must open a CDS (Central Depository System) account through a licensed broker. On Kwahisa, you can skip the paperwork and practice buying and selling immediately using your virtual TZS 5,000,000 balance by clicking "Markets".

@kwahisa βWhat Kwahisa is today: an education and demo-trading platform. All trading uses virtual money. We are not a licensed broker and do not hold client funds.
Paid competitions: entry fees launch only after licensing from the Gaming Board of Tanzania and secure M-Pesa integration. Until then, competition entry is free demo mode.
Real investing: when you're ready to invest real money on the DSE, use a broker licensed by the Capital Markets and Securities Authority (CMSA). We will always point you there.
Your safety here: the chat blocks phone numbers, links, and personal information by design. Nobody from Kwahisa will ever DM you asking for money.
Independence: Kwahisa is an independent platform. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE) or UTT AMIS. All names are used for identification and education only.

Kwahisa exists to make investing understandable and accessible to every Tanzanian, especially young people who have never been shown how the DSE works.
Most people never invest because nobody explains it in plain language, and practicing with real money is too risky when you're starting out. Kwahisa removes both barriers: learn in English or Kiswahili, and practice with TZS 5,000,000 in virtual money against real DSE prices, at zero risk.
We are honest about what we are today: an education and demo-trading platform, not a licensed broker. Every price is clearly dated, every balance is virtual, and our chat is built to keep scammers out. When you are ready to invest real money, we will always tell you the same thing: use a licensed broker regulated by the CMSA.
The long-term vision is bigger, to grow into a full investment hub for Tanzania. But trust comes first, and trust is earned by being straight with you from day one.
